Elderberry - Sambucus canadensis - MN Native Shrub

Tolerates a wide variety of wet to dry soils but prefers rich, moist, slightly acidic soil in sun to partial shade; Tiny lemon-scented white flowers appear in large flat-topped clusters in June. Has an edible fruit which when cooked can be used in pies, pancakes, and jellies. Elderberry bushes also support over 60 different types of pollinators.
