Hibiscus laevis- MN Hearty Perennial - MN Native

Halberd-leaved Rose Mallow (Hibiscus laevis) is a striking, moisture-loving native perennial that brings a touch of the tropics to temperate landscapes. Named for its unique, three-lobed leaves that resemble the head of a medieval halberd (a cross between a spear and an axe), this plant is a standout for its sheer size and elegance. In mid-to-late summer, it produces large, funnel-shaped flowers—reaching up to 6 inches across—that are creamy white to soft pink with a deep, ruby-red "eye" at the center.
